Overview

Octopus MCP

Octopus is your team's company brain: the knowledge graph of your clients, people, processes and rules, your project data rooms, group chats, tasks and skills. Octopus MCP lets you use all of it from the AI you already work with — Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, mobile), Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and any other client that speaks the Model Context Protocol.

Your AI works in Octopus as you: it sees exactly what you can see in your teamspace, with your role, and nothing more.

Get connected in three steps

  1. Sign in at octopus-brain.com/connect with Google or your email — the same account as the Octopus app.
  2. Pick your teamspace, join one with the code your admin gives you, or create one. Connecting needs a teamspace in MCP only or Desktop + MCP mode.
  3. Add the connector to your AI app with the URL below, then approve the connection on octopus-brain.com.
https://mcp.octopus-brain.com/mcp

Then follow the guide for your app: Claude · Claude Code · Cursor · ChatGPT · other clients.

What your AI can do with Octopus

  • Answer from your company brain — search the knowledge graph, read its notes, follow links, apply your team's rules and playbooks.
  • Work in your projects — find and read files (PDF, Word, Excel, scans), search inside documents, create and edit files the whole team can see.
  • Take part in group chats — catch up on what you missed and post replies, as yourself or as Octopus on your behalf.
  • Manage tasks — list, create and update your tasks and your team's.
  • Use your team's skills — the skills your admins wrote are available as prompts.
  • Use your connected apps — read from the tools connected in Octopus, and write to them with your confirmation.

Everything is listed in the tool reference.

How it works

  • One URL for everyone. You choose the teamspace when you approve the connection; a connection works in one teamspace at a time.
  • You sign in on octopus-brain.com. Your AI app never sees your Octopus password, and Octopus never sees your Claude or ChatGPT password.
  • Your AI, your usage. The model runs on your own Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor plan. Octopus adds no usage caps on this path.
  • Destructive actions ask first. Deleting or overwriting something shows you a summary and waits for your explicit approval.

Start with “Use Octopus”

Start a conversation with “Use Octopus” (or pick the Start with Octopus prompt). Your AI first loads everything Octopus knows about how your team works — its doctrine and rules, your team's own instructions, the map of your brain, projects, skills and connectors, and what is waiting for you (unread group messages, open tasks) — and then works the way the Octopus app does. You can also just ask about your team's work: the connector tells your AI to load that context first.

Try it

Once connected, ask your AI:

  • “What do we know about our client Dupont & Associés?”
  • “Summarize what I missed in our group chats this week.”
  • “Find the latest version of the lease in the Rivoli project and list its key risks.”
  • “Create a task for Marie to review the proposal by Friday.”
