Billing

Octopus is priced per person and per month. Each teamspace has an access mode that decides how the team uses Octopus — and its price.

Prices are per person and per 30-day cycle, excluding VAT (French VAT, 20 %, is added on each bill). With the app's EU-hosting option on at any point of a cycle, every price of that cycle is 10 % higher. The current prices are always on the pricing page.

Who is billed

• Each seat is billed for the days it is held: a member present the whole cycle counts once, one who joins on day 16 counts half. A day as admin is billed at the admin rate — admins pay only the admin rate. Support seats are free.
• Everyone who connects an AI app to a teamspace must be a member of it, and is billed as one.
• On the MCP path the AI itself runs on your own Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor plan: Octopus adds no usage fees and no usage caps.
• In the Octopus app, each person's AI usage has a cap per cycle; an admin can accept a top-up, which adds 100 € to that cycle's bill.

Cycles and mode changes

• Billing runs in 30-day cycles, counted from the day the teamspace was created.
• A cycle is billed at the most expensive mode used during it: switching to a more expensive mode applies to the current cycle; switching to a cheaper one applies from the next cycle.
• Only an admin of the teamspace can change its access mode — at octopus-brain.com/connect (MCP only or Desktop + MCP) or in the app (settings menu → Access mode, one switch: App included on = Desktop + MCP, off = MCP only) — and every change asks for confirmation.

Existing teamspaces

Teamspaces created before access modes existed run in Desktop + MCP: the app works exactly as before, and members can connect Claude at the same price. A teamspace already in Desktop only keeps working as it is; an admin can move it to Desktop + MCP or MCP only, but can't go back to Desktop only.

Creating a teamspace

Creating a teamspace requires the create code — write to hello@octopus-brain.com if you don't have one. Joining an existing teamspace only needs its join code, which an admin can share with you.

Payment

Octopus records each cycle's bill; nothing is paid inside the app. For any question about invoicing, write to hello@octopus-brain.com.
